Federated Media Publishing, the conversational marketing pioneer and champion of content that fuels the social web, today announced that it has sold its content marketing business and all associated trademarks to LIN Digital Media LLC, a subsidiary of LIN Media (NYSE: LIN). Federated Media’s programmatic media and publisher platform business, originally built through the acquisition of Lijit Networks, Inc. in October 2011, will now serve as an independent entity with the name sovrn Holdings, Inc. (“sovrn”) as it rolls out an expanded set of offerings for publishers.
Millions of dollars have been spent on technologies that allow advertisers to chase consumers across the Web in order to sell them shoes and insurance. But what if those same technologies could one day help cure cancer, eliminate car crashes or mitigate global warming? It may not be as far-fetched as it sounds.
Bots are ripping off advertisers in more ways than one. Not only are brands paying for fraudulent ad impressions, but they’re also finding bots are leading them astray in their efforts to reach real humans.
A panel covering RTB and “viewability” played to a packed room atop the Gansevoort Park Hotel in New York last night. What commenced was a (congenially heated, at times) meeting of the minds between James Green, CEO of Magnetic; Anne Hunter, SVP of global marketing strategy at comScore; Brian Gleason, managing director, North America, Xaxis; David Hahn, SVP of product management, Integral Ad Science; and Walter Knapp, COO of Federated Media Publishing. Magnetic hosted the event.
As part of the nomination, employees recognized Lijit for its superior company culture based on outstanding career opportunities, excellent compensation and benefits packages, and a “motivational and entrepreneurial” management team that provides complete business transparency.
