Walter Knapp

EVP & GM, Media Platform

Walter is the Chief Operating Officer at Lijit Networks (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Federated Media Publishing) and EVP of Platform Revenue and Operations at FMP. As the COO of Lijit Networks, Walter is responsible for the company's day-to-day operations. In his role at FMP, Walter is responsible for publisher recruitment, advertising yield management, and exchange / RTB (real-time bidding) media across both Lijit Networks and Federated Media.

With more than 20 years of business and operations management, Walter has been an investor as a Partner and Principal for two very successful venture capital funds. He has also built and led large field organizations for two public companies, Novell and Cambridge Technology partners. Walter regularly speaks about monetization and data strategies at industry events covering both online publishing and advertising.

Scott Cunningham

SVP of Product Development

As SVP of Product Management, Scott oversees the product portfolio of Federated Media Publishing’s media division, including ad exchange, ad delivery, and audience engagement solutions for publishers. Most recently, Scott was VP of Technology and Platforms for Digital First Media with oversight of MediaNews Group and Journal Register Company’s network of 800 digital products and sites including CMS, Ad tech stacks, and UI/UX solutions.

With nearly 20 years of media technology experience, Scott started developing content sites with commerce in 1994 and shortly after joined USA TODAY’s Information Network where he spent nearly ten years building out products and technologies including USATODAY.com. He has also spent time in start-ups and is an award-winning producer covering events such as Olympics, Super Bowls, politics and natural disasters including wild fires and Hurricane Katrina.

Scott Butler

VP of Technical Operations

Scott has over 25 years experience in the IT industry. He currently oversees Federated Media's IT operations, including infrastructure for all data centers, platform release management, and office IT.

In the past, he was responsible for engineering, implementing and managing network infrastructure for Corporate Express during their growth from $750M to over $4B in revenue, including an e-commerce platform supporting over $1M per day. During his tenure at Infocrossing he was responsible for managing network infrastructure at multiple data centers supporting 150+ hosted customers and architecting systems, network and storage solutions for prospective customers.

Mark Chessler

VP of Finance

Mark has more than 15 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and accounting. Before joining Lijit, he spent six years as Director of Financial Planning and Analysis for Raindance Communications (NASDAQ: RNDC). In this position Mark managed the company's yearly budget cycle and financial forecasting, as well as M&A related financial analysis and due diligence. Before joining Raindance, Mark held a variety of Finance positions within small to mid-sized technology companies.

Mark holds a BA in Economics from the University of New Hampshire and an MBA in Finance from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Tom Hart

VP of Operations

In his role as VP of Operations, Tom is in charge of Lijit's customer support group as well as the operational roll-out and management of Lijit's advertising services and channel partner program.

Tom has over 10 years of operations and client services expertise in the online communications and technology space. Prior to his time in the tech industry, Tom worked as a research analyst at one of the nation's most prestigious law firms, Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP in Boston, MA. Before Choate, Tom conducted human rights advocacy work throughout Northern Ireland while he earned an advanced certificate in Peace and Conflict Studies. Tom has studied at Trinity College, Dublin, Queens University, Belfast and the University of Ulster, Derry. He also holds a BA from the University of Colorado, Boulder where he studied History and Political Science.

Bill Marcum

VP of Engineering

As VP of Software Engineering, Bill leads the engineering effort related to the development and support of Lijit's software products.

Prior to Lijit, Bill led software teams at HiveLive, Raindance, Radish Communications, and National BioSystems. He has 20 years of experience developing and architecting scalable and reliable software systems.

Bill received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Florida.
