Search Engine/Results Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Why am I not getting any search results for (insert search term here) even though I have a bunch of posts about that topic?
Is Google able to find those posts using that same search term? If not, neither will Lijit, because we currently use Google Custom Search technology. You can help Google know more about your site by using their Google Webmaster tools, which in turn, will also improve your Lijit experience! That said, if Google can find your posts, but Lijit can't, then please email us at bugreports at lijit dot com and we'll see what's up.
When I do a search, I never see any results. All I see is "Searching..." and a little spinning icon. What's up?
Are you using the Adblock add-on for Firefox? If so, you will have to whitelist lijit.com in order for search results to appear. Otherwise, please send an email to bugreports at lijit dot com so we can help!
I added some new content / network sources, but they aren't showing up in my search results yet. I assume they should...right?
New content and network sources most certainly should show up in your search results, but it does take a little time for them to be updated in our system. If, say, forty-eight hours has passed and you're still not seeing results from those sources, please let us know by sending an email to bugreports at lijit dot com.
When I perform a search from the Lijit Search Wijit on my blog, I would like the "My Blog" tab to display on top by default. Can I make that happen?
If the "My Blog" tab does not display on top by default when you perform a search from the Wijit on your blog, you may be a victim of Norton Anti-Virus or Personal Firewall products. These tools block Lijit from receiving the information we use to decide which tab displays on top by default...and sadly, there's nothing we can do to work around that. But you can rest easy knowing that everyone else who visits your blog (who doesn't also use Norton) is probably seeing the "My Blog" tab on top, as they should. Phew.
