Download the Lijit add-on for Mozilla Firefox now

Installing the Lijit add-on for Mozilla Firefox adds a Lijit icon to your toolbar and offers a Lijit option for your browser sidebar.

If you click on the Lijit toolbar icon it will toggle the sidebar opened and closed. It will also display various icons depending on the circumstance, e.g. the good/bad/dangerous page rating from the person closest to you in your network, a gray question mark if no reports have been made on a page, a blue exclamation point if you’re not logged in, or a yellow warning symbol if the Lijit system is unavailable.

The toolbar icon also offers a drop-down menu of Lijit features. You can use it to submit quick good/bad ratings on a page, open the sidebar (and open the enter a report form to enter a detailed report), go to your profile page or Lijit List home page, jump to a random page, or open your Lijit options dialog box.

To view detailed reports or to enter your own reports, you’ll need to open the sidebar. When your sidebar is open you will see all of the reports available for a given page. Reports from informers closest to you in your trusted network that contain comments are displayed most prominently, with less prominence given to those without comments and that are further away. The sidebar also gives you access to enter reports. Simply click on the “enter a report” bar and the form to enter a report will display.
