Who We Are

Todd Vernon, CEO    Todd is not only our fearless leader, but was also a founder and former CTO of Raindance Communications, Inc. He brings to the team his unusual dietary habits, startling ability to consume fantastic quantities of caffeine, love of bleeding-edge consumer gadgets, and over 15 years of management experience in startup, private, and public companies. Most importantly, Todd is the caretaker of our time and money and makes sure we spend them on things that make Lijit successful.

Walter Knapp, COO    Walter has managed field organizations for Novell, investments for Cambridge Technology Capital, and raised venture capital for DCN. Now he applies his extensive talents in all aspects of building successful businesses at Lijit. We're lucky to have him, even if he is unnaturally good at cycling and skiing and uses strange associated phraseology we don't really understand, e.g. "I don't want us to get out too far out over our ski tips".

Stan James, Founder    Stan is the father of Outfoxed – the original technology behind what is now Lijit that he created as part of his Cognitive Science Master's Thesis. Prior to this, he was an early pioneer of browser-based entertainment and games of his design have been sold to Microsoft, AOL, Real Networks, and Hasbro. He holds and has applied for multiple patents and ensures we build cool and useful things here at Lijit. Referred to by Todd as "The Professor", he drives a highly oxidized, maroon-colored, early '90s Dodge Caravan with sweet pin striping down the side…much to everyone's (and his own) amusement.

Micah Baldwin, VP of Business Development    Micah – who upon his original introduction to the Lijit team was described as “scary” and “tattooed” – is a 14-year veteran of the Marketing and Advertising space. He parlayed his love for those functions and desire to be more than just a user into creating his own search marketing agency, Current Wisdom, which he sold in March 2007 to Indigio. Armed with Biff, the trusty Wifi Rabbit, Micah travels the planet in search of strategic alliances and new business development opportunities that drive revenue for Lijit and value for our users.

Dan Jones, VP of Engineering    Dan's got a long rap sheet in software engineering, having held various and sundry technical roles across a variety of industries, including teleconferencing and biotech. Dan will research every possible combination of solutions to a problem (literally…seriously) until he finds the best one, be that for buying a new HDTV or optimizing a particularly vexing database query. Since no one else on the team is even remotely patient enough to do that, we're particularly glad to have Dan on our side.

Leslie Osborne, Director of Product and Support    Leslie is a veteran of audio conferencing, web conferencing, and calling card Product Management, having spent the past 10 years either bringing new products to life or nurturing their continued existence. At Lijit she designs and manages releases, fields support questions, performs QA testing, and fulfills "other duties as assigned". She has a Master's degree in keeping trains on their tracks and a minor in cat herding.

Mike Meredith, Director of IT    Mike’s been a computer geek for as long as he’s known what a computer was, even though his education and personal interests tend towards the fine arts. He’s been building and maintaining IT infrastructures for the past 12 years and luckily, now takes care of all of those boxes and wires here at Lijit. And thank goodness for that, really, because making sure all of that stuff works...and works well, all the time...seems to be really darn important.

Derek Greentree, Sr. Software Engineer    Derek doesn’t make what you see when you use Lijit, he makes what you see when you use Lijit work. He's a computer scientist by schooling, a master of web development by trade, and develops the back-end code for Lijit. When he's not reading Japanese or coding in JavaScript, he's probably giving more money to Apple, his favorite purveyor of consumer electronics.

Charlie Wanek, Sr. Software Engineer    Charlie may have started in the working world by selling video arcade tokens, but now he holds the future of Lijit's search technology in his (fortunately for us, quite capable) hands. He's got 18 + years of software experience and spends his days at Lijit in front of his computer doing...um...super-secret stuff you'll find out about later.

Emmanuel Puentes, Senior Software Architect    (Witty bio for Manny coming soon!)

Andy Stanberry, Software Engineer    Andy is caretaker for all the visible pieces of Lijit. He builds the pages, places the buttons, colors the fonts, sizes the avatars, aligns the text...well, you get the gist. He is as learned in the ways of CSS, PHP, HTML, and JavaScript as he is with a hammer and saw, the latter of which comes in quite handy when he's renovating rooms in his new house.

Daniel Weiss, Technical Integration Manager    Daniel uses his mad software hacking skillz to integrate Lijit with exciting new business partners and technologies, run new features through the ringer before they're released, and quickly dispatch even the most mind-boggling of user support issues. Though Daniel comes to us from the realm of teleconferencing (specifically in IT and Operations Management), he spent most of his formative years working in health food and organic grocery stores, so we're pretty sure he'll outlive us all.

Tara Anderson, Community Catalyst    Tara's been a public school teacher, restaurant manager, stand-up comedienne, massage therapist, and is now in charge of evangelizing Lijit, which she does with aplomb. Tara spends her days reaching out to new and potential Lijit users, as well as generally finding ways to grow the Lijit community and get our message out there. She's comfortable striking up a conversation with anyone, anywhere, anytime (unlike the rest of the folks here), but is still nerdy enough to represent.

Colleen Clair, Executive Assistant    Colleen takes good care of Todd, Stan, and the general office operations of Lijit. She started out a little over 10 years ago managing doctor's offices, which prepared her well for later supporting the head cases otherwise known as teleconferencing executives. (No offense, Todd.) If you call our main phone number or stop by our office for a visit, Colleen’s happy voice/face will be the one to greet you.
